James Lyons is a co-founder, CTO and had the genesis idea of Carbonaught.

Before Carbonaught, James was a Senior Data Scientist working with Rhys and Andrew in operations research within mining. He holds a PhD from Griffith University, where he developed methods for protein fold recognition, and dual bachelor's degrees in Engineering (Microelectronics) and Information Technology. He has authored 41 publications in speech recognition and bioinformatics and maintains open-source projects.
