Carbonaught

Carbonaught builds soils for the next century of agriculture, rebuilding the mineral foundation that food production depends on. Decades of cultivation draw down the primary minerals in farmed soil faster than natural weathering can replace them, leaving crop systems increasingly dependent on imported inputs to sustain yield.

Australian soil is ancient and depleted, among the oldest and most heavily weathered in the world. Carbonaught rebuilds it from the ground up with local rock, proven geochemical science, and the economics to scale across commercial farms.

Mineral soil upgrades change the carbon balance of agriculture. Carbon removal is a system property, not a commodity: it emerges from healthier soil chemistry rather than a one-off credit event. As mineral weathering proceeds toward steady state, the carbon balance of the soil moves toward +2.0 t CO₂e per hectare per year.

Carbonaught was founded by operating co-founders in machine learning, whose published research has been cited more than 4,500 times in scholarly literature, together with scientific co-founders in geochemistry and soil science whose combined research has been cited more than 29,000 times. That pairing of computational and earth science expertise underpins how the company designs and scales its mineral soil systems.
